こんいちは!
My goals for this pronunciation exercise are as follows:
1) I want to improve my use of tone-based accent patterns and rid of any stress-based accent patterns
that I am carrying over from English
2) I also want to improve the flow of my speech and focus on not putting breaks between words and
their particles
To improve these things, some activities I could do are as follows:
1) Listen to more spoken Japanese to get a feel for the natural accent patterns and where breaks are
naturally added in native speech
2) Go to the Japanese table to practice these elements of my speech
じゃ、あた!
マシュー・スミス
You make a valid point about removing breaks between words or particles etc - it seems that even though when shadowing it may be easier to increase speed per the speaker's rhythm, actually obtaining appropriate speed naturally is rather tough. The fact that we are studying a new alphabet probably doesn't help either.
